Brian J. Peters

Brian joined Meritage in 2015 and has senior responsibility for engineering, supply chain and construction. With more than 20 years of midstream and upstream experience, Brian brings considerable field-tested insight to the leadership team.

Before joining Meritage, Brian was Director of Major Projects at Noble Energy, Inc., where he built a midstream engineering and construction team and helped lead the effort to move Noble’s midstream assets into a stand-alone business unit. He worked closely with his team to design and construct gas gathering and processing, oil gathering and treating, produced water gathering and fresh water distribution systems for the DJ Basin. From 2008 to 2013, Brian worked at Anadarko Petroleum, where he was DJ Basin Asset Project Manager and Midstream Engineering Manager for Utah and SW Wyoming. As DJ Basin Asset Project Manager, he developed infrastructure strategy for gas gathering and processing, oil gathering and treating, and fresh water distribution. As Midstream Engineering Manager, he helped create and execute resource development plans that aligned upstream and midstream goals in the Uintah Basin. From 2002 to 2008, Brian was Director / Manager of Engineering and Operations for Canyon Gas Resources, LLC / Cantera Natural Gas, LLC. He led a team of 70 people and was responsible for project design and execution, field operations, EHS programs and technical support of business development. From 1997 to 2000, Brian was Project Engineer for McMurry Oil Company and helped design and build the initial Jonah Gas Gathering system. Brian began his career in 1995 as a project engineer working various gas gathering projects in the San Juan Basin.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kansas in 1995 and his MBA from the University of Denver in 2013.

Brian currently serves on the board of directors for Urban Peak, where he is chair of the Finance Committee, a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and a member of the Executive Committee.
